Every time we do an exercise in my English or Social Studies class my teacher will go “Imagine if you were alive then” and I always say “me as myself?” And they always get annoyed that they have to clarify because not everyone was treated the same in history (obviously). This got especially problematic in the Holocaust unit since I’m Jewish
